Q12668 - HOWTO: Configure Collector on Remote/Standalone Computer (basics)

There are specific instructions with each different collector. These instructions are the starting point to configure the collector when it is installed on a remote/standalone computer, and apply to all collectors. For more detailed configuration instructions, see the documentation included with your collector.

Notice these screenshots are for collector Q12470, but are the same for all collectors for this discussion. There is more detailed instructions with each collector that is specific to that collector/interface software.

To run the collector, click Start menu button > All Programs and HACH Company entry. Select Hach WIMS > Hach WIMS (interface name) Indirect Interface > Collector.

An error message appears the first time the collector runs. It is telling you that there are errors, in this case the configuration file is missing. Press OK.

The Interactive Mode screen will appear. Click on the Configure button in the upper left corner.

The next screen is standard with all collectors. In our case, we need to select Use Standalone configuration radio button. Click on Configure Collector to configure your specific collector.

To get more help, there will be a Help button on the next configuration screen for information specific to your collector.
