Q14438 - INFO: User Profile

A User Profile defines security settings, user settings, data approval settings, and group priviledges for a list of Users.  This allows you to define a profile, assign users to the profile and only maintain the profile instead of editing each user if something changes.

A user assigned to a User Profile gets it's settings from the Profile, it's user setup no longer applies.

Example: I have 4 operators that need User Access to Plant#1 and Read-Only Access to Plant#2.

    1. Using User Profile Setup create a User Profile "Plant#1 Operators".
    2. Set Facil Access, Settings, etc... for the Profile.
    3. Assign 4 operators to the Profile.

Now, the 4 operators need User Access to Plant#2.  Edit the profile and all 4 users will have User Level Access to Plant#2.  You don't need to edit all 4 users, simply change the profile.  If you get a new operator, setup a basic user and then add them to the profile.
