Q13477 - INFO: Q13488 Interface Introduction

This interface is designed as a custom interface for moving data from the Charleston SCADA to WIMS 7.2. It is a direct interface meaning it does not utilize any files to move the data. It connects to both databases directly, selects the data from the SCADA and inserts it into the WIMS database.

Here are the basic setup sets to use this interace:

  1. Connect to Hach WIMS
    1. Menu: Configuration | Connection to Hach WIMS
    2. Select database type
    3. enter specifics about the database
    4. Test the data by clicking the Test Connection button
  2. You need to specify the connection information to the SCADA database at the interface's user interface.
    1. Menu: Configuration | Collector Configuration.
    2. Click on Collector Configuration Settings
    3. Source Connection tab
    4. enter data to allow the interface application to connect to the SCADA database
  3. Also at the interface's user interface select the Utilities menu item and selcet "Upload definition file to Hach WIMS'. Select the 13488.g2_server_lu file. This file hold information that WIMS uses to interact with this interface.
  4. At this point you can use the Edit/Variables scree in WIMS to associate varables to this interface. Here is an article discussing this association.
