Using the interface browser for Hach WIMS Direct Server-Side Interface to GE Fanuc Proficy Historian.
Step 1: It is important to note that in order for this browser to work, there must be an Oracle OLE DB driver on the local computer.
Step 2: The browser connection must be properly configured. In the Hach WIMS client:
- Select System Tables -> Entire System -> Server-Side Interface Setup.

- Select the Edit button for the GE Fanuc Proficy Historian entry that you want to enable the browser for.

- Click on the Browser tab and enter the connection string for your GE Fanuc Proficy Historian server. Make sure Browser Enabled is checked and click OK button.

You are ready to view tags from the historian. Click on System Setup -> View/Edit Variables and click on the Interface tab.
Click the button with a ? (question mark) on it as shown below:

The browser will load:
Before viewing tags, there are two steps - select a date and refresh the tag list:
- Select Date - In the upper right hand corner is a date box, click the down arrow and select a day that there will be data for. This will read tag names from either the AS01MI_ or AS05MI_ tables
- Refresh Tags - This will list the tags from the table associated with the date
Other buttons:
- OK - This will pass the selected tag name to the Hach WIMS client
- Cancel - This will cancel changing the tag name and return to Hach WIMS client
- Help - This will bring up help information about the browser
- Exit - This will exit the browser and return to the Hach WIMS client
Alternatively, there is a menu bar available for the buttons:
- File menu
- OK - This will pass the selected tag name to the Hach WIMS client
- Cancel - This will cancel changing the tag name and return to Hach WIMS client
- Exit - This will exit the browser and return to the Hach WIMS client
- View menu
- Refresh - This will list the tags from the table associated with the date
- Clear - This will completely clear the display box below the button bar
- Help menu
- How to use this browser - This will bring up help information about the browser
- About - This will bring up a description of this browser
If an appropriate date has been selected, tag names will appear as shown below:
Simply highlight the tag name you want and click OK.
