Supported variable configurations for the Hach WIMS Direct Server-Side Interface to Perkin Elmer Labworks LIMS.

To configure a variable to hold values from the LIMS, select Edit/View Variables in the client and select the Interface tab.

Then click Interface To radio button. The drop down box next to the option is now enabled, click the drop down arrow and choose the Labworks interface name (name given when configuring the interface).

Sample.LocCode [Required]:  The location identifier in Labworks for the sampling point (i.e. the value from the Labworks Sample table's LOCCODE field).

Analysis.ACode [Required]:  Identifies the Labworks Analysis to get results from and uses the Analysis table's ACODE field.

Analytes.AlnName[Optional]:  When the Analysis.ACODE field does not uniquely identify the result the Analytes.AlnName field is used.  For example, the ACODE of $PEST means we are running the series of pesticides for Acetochlor, Alachlor, Atrazine, etc...  If this field is left blank, the interface will only use the ACODE and LOCCODE to match up records. See Supported Variable Configurations for Interface Q12211 - Advanced Settings for more examples.

Which Result Field to Import From [Optional]:  Valid values are: RESULT, RESULT2RAWRESULT, QRESULT,QRESULT2, and QRAWRESULT.  If field is left blank, the default RESULT will be used. In the Perkin Elmer Labworks database, there are three fields that contain results.  IF "Q" is placed in front of the field name, the QUALIFY field will be concatenated with the specified field to make the result to be imported.  For example, some Labworks Result fields contain the qualifer as shown (i.e. notice the <5 - the qualifer is already in the result):

However, in other Labworks implementations the QUALIFY field contains the qualifier and the Result fields only hold the numeric portion (therefore QRESULT, QRESULT2, or QRAWRESULT should be used):

NOTE:  Not all Labworks database have the RAWRESULT field depending on your Labworks configuration/version.  If the RAWRESULT field is not a field in your database, please set the RESULT.RAWRESULT field in Source Configuration to Does Not Exist.

Import Unvalidated Results [Optional]: Valid values are: YES or NO.  Defaults to YES if left blank. YES will import results whether they have been validated or not. When set to NO, only results that have been validated according to the Verify result validation type setting will be imported. Validation can come from either ANALYSIS.AVALUSER or SAMPLE.VALUSER fields. The Verify result validation type setting is configured on the interface under Configuration -> Source Configuration -> Advanced Settings. See article Configuration - Source Configuration Q12211 for more information on this setting.

Fill in fields as needed, LocCode and ACode are the only required fields. You can enter these by hand or click the elipse button to browse the codes. For a description and pictoral view of the various browser options, see Using Interface Browser Q12231. If the browser is not enabled, enable it by following the directions in article: Configure the Hach WIMS Client for a Server-Side Interface for LIMS.
