Q12578 - KNOWNISSUE: Performance issues while loading Service Queues, Spread Report SQL Results and SQL Console Window

There is a known issue in the Hach WIMS client where the Ado Calc, GNR and Email queues take a long time to load. Also affected are the SQL Result location feature in the Spread Report Designer and Admin Console's SQL Console window. This is especially apparent in large systems with a large number of schemas and databases, running on Oracle Backend.

Symptoms:

Any of the following:

  • The above mentioned queue windows a take a long time to load (2-10 minutes).
  • The Locate -> SQL Result window takes a long time to load (2-10 minutes) in the Hach WIMS Spread Designer.
  • The Admin Console -> SQL Console window takes a long time to load (2-10 minutes).

Work Around:

As of Hach WIMS 7.0.9, a Super user can set the Utilize Query Builder [General Setting] to "0" in the Hach WIMS Admin Console .  This setting will disable the loading of the schemas into the query builder.  This renders the query building portion of these windows unusable; however, this will greatly decrease the loading times for the above listed windows.
