Q12401 - INFO: Interface Introduction

The Hach WIMS Direct Server-Side Interface to Trihedral VTS HMI imports data from Trihedral Engineering Limited's VT SCADA System into Hach WIMS.

The interface was developed to query data from the Trihedral VTS HMI History tables using the VTS ODBC Driver.  The interface requires that the VTScada default Historian Data Storage option is used which saves historian tags to a VTScada proprietary database system within the application's data folder.  The interface then queries data from the VTScada ODBC Server, an optional component of VTScada that must be purchased with your VTScada license agreement, via SQL Statements.

You must install the VTScada ODBC driver - run VTSODBCDriverInstall.exe program from VTScada to install the driver.

The tables are named from the tag names and the interface pulls data from TIMESTAMP and VALUE fields. The data is then summarized depending on how the collection point in Hach WIMS Client is defined.

This is an example of a data table taken from a Trihedral VTS System. The Data Source Name (DSN) is WaterLevels and the Tag Name is AI001:
