A. Configuration Template: You can choose a template to help you setup your initial connection.

B. DBMS Type: This is the type of database your LIMS source is using. You can choose Oracle or Microsoft SQL

C. OLE DB Provider: This the database driver you wish to use. Choosing a DBMS type will fill this out for you, or you can use your own.

D. Data Source: This is the server and instance name of your database's data source. The formatting of this looks different depending on if  you are in Oracle or MS SQL.

E. Source Tables Owner: This should default to dbo. You can type whatever you like here. You may need to ask your Database Administrator (DBA) to assist you in figuring this out.

F. Database Name: The name of the database that contains your LIMS data.

G. Username: This is the loggin in information for the database. Your user will need read privledges.

H. Password: This is the password associated with your username.

I. Connection Timeout in Seconds: This is how long the interface will wait for a reply when connecting to your source before giving up. Set this higher if you expect greater latency.

J. Command Timeout in Seconds: This is how long the interface will wait for a reply when submitting requests for data before giving up. These may take longer than a connection request. Set this higher if you expect greater latency.

K. Customizations: This is used to customize the connection string to your source data. You may add additional Connection string settings here beyond the ones provided in this form.

L. View Applied Connection String: You can see a preview of the Connection String that will be generated based on your settings.

M. Test Connection: This will test your current settings to see if the interface can make a connection. If this test fails, the interface cannot connect to your source data.

N. STATUS: This displays the current status of your test connection.

O. Import Hach WIMS Comments: This setting tells the interface to add comments in Hach WIMS when it recieves a result it cannot handle.

 

NOTES: Promium Elements has currently has a Microsoft SQL backend. Oracle support is already added to this interface incase Promium begins to support Oracle.
