Q11003 - INFO: 4 Hour Data Entry Forms

4 Hour Data Entry Form Design allows you to add new, change existing, and delete forms with 4 Hour type variables on it.

USING:

Designing a new 4-Hour Data Entry form:

  1. Select Design>4 Hour Data Entry Forms.   The form design screen will be displayed. 
  2. If you have not designed any forms yet, the design screen will be prompted for a Form Name.  Enter the name and click OK.  If forms exist, click the New button and you will be prompted for the Form Name.
  3. Use the ...Add button to display the variable browser and pick the variables for the form. 
  4. Choose your Entry Group and options. 
  5. Click Exit to close the window. 

Once a form is created, you will be able to access it from the Data Manager Entry Forms menu.

FIELDS:

Form Name: Displays the name for the Form.  The name is displayed in the Data Manager Menu and is used to select the form for use.  Click the  button to edit the Form Name.  The  button allows you to select a form to design (instead of using Next, Prev buttons to move to the form).

Entry Group: Sets the Entry Group for the Form.  See Entry Form Group Manager for more information on Entry Groups.

Edit Mode Overwrite:  Sets whether existing entries are replaced when you start typing in a data entry cell or is appended to the end of the entry.  Select On to replace existing text when entering or Off to append text to the end of the cell. 

Display Time Column for each variable: Check this box in order to display a separate Time column next to each variable.  This allows you to set a specific time within the data slot (4-hour period) for each variable.  If specific times do not need to be set within the data slot, uncheck this option and the Time of day column will only be shown once on the far left of the form.  

Enter Key Action:  Select Down or Across to determine the direction the cursor will move when the [Enter] key is pressed.

Heading:  Sets what will be displayed in the column header for each variable in the form.  Simply check all items you want displayed in the column header. 

BUTTONS:

Moves to the first form in the list.

Moves to the previous form in the list.

Moves to the next form in the list.

Moves to the last form in the list.

Creates a New Data Entry Form. You will be prompted for the new form name.  Enter a descriptive name of the new data entry form and select OK.  The new form will be created and you will then be allowed to choose the variables and options for the form.

Deletes the currently displayed form.

Exits form design.

Displays a pick list of forms.  Choose a form on the list to move to that form form editing.

Used to change the current form's name.

Displays the variable browser in order to add variables to the form.

Move the currently selected variables from the Available list and add them to the end of the Form Variable List.

Move all the variables from the Available list and adds them to the end of the Form Variable List.

Removes the currently selected variables from the Form Variable List.

Clears the Form Variables List.

Moves the currently selected variable(s) up one row in the list.  Variables on the data entry form are displayed in the order shown here.

Moves the currently selected variable(s) up down row in the list.  Variables on the data entry form are displayed in the order shown here.
