Q11468 - INFO: View Probability Graph

A Probability graph is displayed in this window.  The data set is defined on the Probability Input form.

USING:

Probability graphs are "Hot".  You can click on a data point and the probability that the value will be below the value selected will be displayed.

Each of the buttons in the row of buttons below those listed above (the buttons with icons instead of words) opens a specific page of the Graph Properties Pages which can be used to modify the appearance of the graph.  Click here for more information on customizing the appearance of graphs.

BUTTONS:

Outputs graph to the current printer.

Allows selection and setup of the printer.

Selects which range to the graph to focus on.  Frequently a Normal Probability Curve results in a curved tail at either end of the distribution.  Applying a Semi-Logarithmic scale straightens out the end of the distribution, providing easier extrapolation beyond the data. WIMS Probability graph offers the choice to apply this level of detail to one end of the data set or the other.

Used to calculate a probability or value for a certain point for the selected curve fit.  The Probability Inquiry form is displayed.Enter in a value and click the Calculate  button and the % probability will be calculated.  Conversely, a % probability can be entered and the value calculated.

Exit the graph view window and returns to Probability Input
