Q10074 - HOWTO: Restarting OPSSQL NT Services automatically after Database Backup

Whether your OPSSQL Database resides on an Oracle or MS SQL platform, cold database backups are sometimes necessary. The database has to go offline when a cold backup is to take place. OPSSQL NT services such as OPSAdoCalc and OPSSQL_GNR_Server constantly require database connectivity. If the database connectivity is broken while they are running (database goes offline), these services will need to be restarted.

OPS Systems has developed a simple utility that allows you to automatically restart NT Services when the OPS SQL database comes online after a cold backup. Info on how to configure this utility (called OPSSQL Service Bouncer) can be found here.
