Q11666 - INFO: Custom Reports Overview

Allows you to design custom reports.

Introduction:

JOB Cal/Plus comes with a set of canned reports that should be sufficient for most users. However JOB Plus users can purchase the Custom Reports module which gives users the capability to create their own custom reports or modify canned reports to create a new custom report and run them from the JOB Cal/Plus program. The Custom Reports module is not available to JOB Cal users. Contact HACH for the current price. If you have the Custom Reports Module you will see the following at the bottom of your Log On screen.

JOB data is stored in a Microsoft Access 97 database. You should be familiar with JOB Plus, Custom Reports, SQL and Access to create custom reports. If you decide that you don't want to purchase this module or if you don't want to learn how to use it you can have HACH develop a custom report or modify a canned report for you at our standard hourly rate.

Summary:

Custom Reports is intended to be used by advanced users only. For additional help on Custom Reports there are 2 files in the \CustomRpts directory on your JOB Plus/Cal installation CD. AR2Std.chm and ActiveReports2StandardEditionHelp.pdf.

The examples shown in related topics will get you started. Simply play around with Custom Reports to learn more. Custom Reports is a very powerful tool for designing reports and it has many features. Our yearly technical service plan covers the basics of designing reports but does not include support for helping you to learn how to design queries in Microsoft Access or for teaching you how to design complicated custom reports. However we are happy to provide custom service on an hourly basis. Give HACH a call at 800-677-0067 if you have any questions.
