Q10068 - HOWTO: Creating OPSROOT via OPS Server Setup for Microsoft SQL 2000

If you have already installed OPS SERVER SETUP, you can skip over to step 10.
Put the OPS SQL installation into your CD-ROM drive. Autorun should pop up the installation front end.
Click on SERVER_SETUP, and then Microsoft SQL 200
Internet Exporer will ask you what to do with setup.exe. Select Open (Run on some OS versions)
Confirm Yes if Windows warns you about Security Cerificate Signature.
On the installation welcome screen, press OK to continue.
If you don't want to install Server Setup to the default path, use Change Directory. Otherwise, click on the INSTALL button to proceed.
Click continue to confirm the OPS SQL program group.
The install process will complete and give you the following confirmation
Run OPS MS SQL Server Setup from Start/Programs/OPSSQL
Click next on the welcome screen
Type in your database server name where you want OPSSQL databases to reside. Click Next
Click Next on the following screen. If you see something different, then most likely you have already created OPSROOT on this database server (and you will not be able to continue with steps described further in this article).
Server setup will now prompt for username and password of a highly priviledged DB user (DBA). Type that in and click Next
If the user provided in the previous step happened to have the required right, OPS Server Setup will confirm success with the following message :
Click OK and then Next
Wait for OPS Server Setup to finish its work and once its done, you will see a message:

This is to inform you that OPSSQL Superuser SUPER was created, with a password of SUPER. Retain this information as you will need it again. Then click OK.
Click OK on the following :
Click OK and OPS Server Setup will close. You have successfully created the OPSROOT database.
