The WIMS Direct Server-Side Interface to OSISoft PI Historian imports summarized values into WIMS or Rio. PI, by OSISoft, is a high performance data archiving system designed to collect, store, and retrieve time-based information efficiently. Data Collectors gather information from data sources, and forwards it to the PI Server (through the PI API). The PI Server compresses and stores the information in the Archive Database. The ARchive Database consists of several files, each of which represents a specific time period of historical data. Data is read from the PI database, summarized based upon the user specified statistic and the resulting value is placed in the WIMS/Rio database.
