Q12664 - HOWTO: Install Dispatcher (Q12497) on remote computer

The Dispatcher will need to be installed on the computer that has the historical account of the source data. Source data are values coming from various places within the plant, such as from Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's). The historical account is maintained by some other software, which the Collector will need to communicate with. The Dispatcher will need to be configured to read files from the Collector and move them to the Hach WIMS Client computer. For this explanation, we will refer to the computer with source data as the Source Data Computer, and the computer with the Hach WIMS Client as the Hach WIMS Computer.

On the Source Data Computer, install the Collector. This program can be installed from the Hach WIMS Indirect Interface CD (KB article Q12520 - How to install interface from ISO image (indirect)). If a CD Drive is unavailable, download the ISO image from one of our mirror sites and follow the instructions in Q12520, there are instructions to mount the ISO image in KB article Q12278
