The Hach WIMS Direct Server-Side Interface to Custom EDI Lab Data Files interface imports data from EDI Lab Data Files,  imports the values into Hach WIMS Client variables, and updates the Sample Tests in LabCal.

The EDI Lab Data files have specifically positioned data and are defined in the SDWIS/STATE System Adminitration Guide for Release 8.0 (see SDWIS/STATE Fixed-Format Lab EDI File Format for more details). For example the first three positions of each line contain the Record Name. There are two types of Record Names: HDR (header records) and DTR (detailed records). The Record Name defines the line format as specified in the Administration Guide; section 18 for HDR and section 19 for DTR.

In order for this interface to work properly, the Hach WIMS License must have LabCal enabled and the LabCal Licensing Setup must enable the facility (see LabCal Setup for more details).
