Q13446 - INFO: Interface Introduction

This is a custom interface to StarLIMS, an upgrade from an existing OPSSQL interface.

Although the source data comes from a LIMS system, due to the way it's structured and the way we request it, it most closely resembles the functionality of a SCADA-type interface.

That is the reason the Variable Setup for the interface looks like SCADA-type setup.

The interface is really four interfaces rolled into one, each querying a different type of data:

  1. LIMS
  2. PROCESS
  3. MANUAL
  4. TRUCKIN
  5. TRUCKOUT

Each type of data requires its own specific variable setup. The fields that change from variable to variable are specified in the "TAG" name of the variable, delimeted by ":" (colon. This can be changed).

For the data that is common to all, those values are specified once (to avoid repetition in each variable) in the interface "Advanced Configuraiton" screen.
