Q14245 - HOWTO: Hach WIMS Direct Interface to doForms error 429 : ActiveX component can''t object

This will hopefully fix the error: Error reading CustomSource.LoadResultRecords: 429 : ActiveX component can't create object

Discovered that installing this interface on Windows 7 can be challenging.

The following steps helped resolve this particular error:

  1. Exit the interface
  2. Copy DoFormsWebServiceInterface.dll from DistFiles to same folder as Q14162.exe (not sure this is necessary)
  3. Run command prompt as Administrator
  4. Change current directory to where DoFormsWebServiceInterface.dll is located
  5. In the command prompt enter: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\RegAsm.exe /codebase /tlb DoFormsWebServiceInterface.dll
  6. Rerun the interface
