Explanation of terms :
  • OPS SQLTM Client
The client software is installed on each computer that will need access to the data and reports. Login-based security settings can be used to regulate user access to the program and data. In a typical setup, only one or two super users are created, who have full access and control over the software and database. The number of client programs that can be connected to the database at any given time is regulated by the license purchased; however, the number of computers that can have the client software installed is not limited.
  • ADOCALC
is the powerful calculation engine used by the OPS SQL server to perform the data analysis calculations specified by the user(s). It runs as an NT Service and uses a task queue to manage calculation requests. ADOCALC can run in a load-balanced mode (supported in Enterprise Edition), where workload is distributed by dispatcher among multiple worker nodes, thus allowing for parallel proccessing.
  • GnR ServerTM
is an optional utility which can be used to generate reports on a scheduled and triggered basis. GnR Server is also capable of publishing OPS SQL reports and graphs onto webservers.
  • OPS SQL Scheduler
this NT services takes care of scheduling calculation requests to ADOCALC as well as requests to GnR Server.
  • OPS SQL Email Gateway
functions as a single point gateway for all email generated by OPS SQL. This email is then forwarded to your SMTP mail server.
  • OPS SQL Interfaces to LIMS & SCADA
Interfaces pull data from numerous Laboratory/LIMS software packages and SCADA systems. Each OPS SQL variable can specify how to handle data qualifiers (such as <,>,ND,E,...) for reporting and calculations. These interfaces are optional and can be obtained separately for each system from which you wish to retrieve data.
  • OPS SQL Watchdog
this NT service monitors all other OPS SQL services for their health and takes appropriate action to remedy issues that may come up during their execution.
  • PocketOPS
allows for remote (disconnected) data collection on PDA devices running Microsoft Windows Mobile operating systems. Synchronization to OPS SQL database is performed inside OPS SQL Client.
  • OPS SQL Remote
allows for remote (disconnected) data collection in rich environments such as Microsoft Windows Tablet Edition. Synchronization to OPS SQL database server is built into OPS SQL Remote. Available for Enterprise Edition.
